This is the first book that I have read by Anna Quindlen but it certainly won't be the last and I am very grateful to the publishers for this introduction to such a stellar author.
This is a book like no other, and as such comparisons are hard, but for another book that has gripped me in a similar way recently I would highly recommend Emma Donoghue's [[Room by Emma Donoghue|Room]] while for another look at family tragedy, [[We Need To talk Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver]] springs to mind.
