American journalist and MBA, Sharmi Albrechtsen has lived in Denmark for more than 12 years. She has worked as a communications director for several international companies and has been keeping a journal on her life in Denmark.
Before moving to Denmark, she had been a self-confessed HAP (Hindu American Princess) with a platinum credit card but after a decade of Danish Jante Law, Danish in-laws and SKAT (taxes), she has mended her ways. She now lives in Charlottenlund, Denmark with her husband and daughter and considers herself a hybrid now.
She writes about the Danish Happiness phenomenon in a personal witty way interspersed with her own story, interviews, research and Blog comments from her popular award-winning Blog column on Denmark’s official website www.denmark.dk
