Summary: A wonderful bedtime story about a small boy and his Dad as they talk about all the things he could grow up to be. Inspiring and entertaining in equal measure, I can see this series of books becoming really popular in future.

When your children are very little, it can be incredibly difficult to sum up to them what it is you want for their future. It can also be incredibly difficult to sum up to them just how much you want them to go to sleep of an evening; this book ties up the two nicely, in what I believe to be a really good bedtime story.

Publishing this as a board book was a really good decision, as it implies that it is a book for very young children which works so well given the message it is sending. For me, this title encapsulates the joy of reading with your child. They are young and in the future they can do whatever they want to do, and this book lets them go wherever it is they want to go. It is full of possibilities and carries the reader along with them.

The text is pitched really well for bedtime reads with little ones, and I can see me reading this to my son happily for some time to come. I like the way that the images are laid out on the page, fantastical pictures mixed alongside everyday ones, and text placed well amongst them. There is a very nice touch in the inclusion of trying to spot the dog on each page, which will help younger readers to engage with the book on another level.

I think that this could turn into a really interesting series of books which will inspire lots of children to go and explore as much as they can. I am also really interested to download the interactive app version of this title to see what it has in store, and what places we might go.

Another great title to show children just what they are capable of is Some Dogs Do by Jez Alborough.
