Having gained a B.A degree I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education accredited by Liverpool University whereupon I became a primary school teacher in a Priority Area School. There I introduced and edited the School Magazine 'Halt' which won the award for Wirral's best Primary School Magazine in a competition run by the local press.

Wishing to pursue my interest in how children learn, I took a career break to study psychology whereby I gained an Honours Degree and graduate membership to The British Psychological Society. Private tuition and supply teaching kept me in touch with the world of education during the lengthy period which followed of going into business to own my own private pre-school where I initiated an introductory level reading scheme based on my studies in educational psychology, which proved a huge success. Latterly and in conjunction with the preschool I set up a second business, a Care & Service Agency, offering not only Care and Support Staff but also meeting all levels of domestic and social need. Our Educational Support Division catered for private tuition and offered Supply Staff to a variety of pre-school establishments.

Books have always been my thing, and appropriately enough my career began as a trainee librarian. With books still very much my thing, I have now come full circle, arima publishing having published 'The Harriet Series', works of literary, modern fiction, and also my first blog book, 'A Flight of Fancy'.

Abramis Academic has recently published 'Smart Read Easy', an interactive, fun activity book offering pre-school children a complete, comprehensive introduction to reading which is based on the aforementioned scheme and is fully endorsed by Staff and Parents.

The next in 'The Harriet Series' is currently work in progress and there's also another blog book on the horizon 'Footprints in the Sand' to include a small selection of poems. In addition I enjoy reviewing books of all genres. I also enjoy the interaction Linkedin gives me with fellow authors as with Twitter and would invite you to please join me there - @Maryroseanna. Also please do visit my 'about.me' page online which gives you all links to my social sites, including my main website and blog.
