When I got this book I didn't realise it was the third book in a series, and to start with this put me off; I thought I'd be the one stood outside the window watching everyone else at the party and not understand what was going on. However, as I started to read I started to feel more included than I thought I would (there is a nice little reminder paragraph at the start that filled me on what I had missed). So, although I recommend you start with the first book in the series, Entice does have its own legs and is very capable of standing on them.

Ok, to the story. Zara's boyfriend, Nick, is dead. However, there is a chance for Zara to get him back. Nick has been taken to a mythical land for warriors called Valhalla, ruled by the god Odin, who happens to be a pixie. The only way to get to Valhalla is to become a pixie. So, Zara has been turned by Astley, who as a pixie king, has made her his queen. Together her and Astley set out on a quest to get back Nick, to find out the secret of how to get to Valhalla over the Biforest rainbow bridge. But what does being a pixie queen mean? And will her love for Nick be changed by her bond to her king?

Not everything is plain sailing though. Someone is trying to kill her, stop her from getting to Valhalla and finding Nick. As well as this people keep disappearing, and although the media and mortals believe a serial killer is on the loose, Zara knows better – the disappearances all lead back to pixies, the evil type. And a war is brewing.

This was a good and easy read. Zara is a likeable character, although I had a bit of a problem sympathising with her over Nick, as I didn't know his character having not read the previous books (I was secretly hoping she'd forget all about him and just be with Astley, who is pretty lovely).

I was quite impressed with the storyline – it was original and riddled with Norse myth, which I loved! It definitely stands out in a sea of vampire and werewolf books. I've never read any books which approach pixies in a way that's not all glitter, flying and Peter Pan. Seeing them in a blue, sharp-toothed light was pretty mesmerizing. My mission now is to get the two previous books and catch up on what I've missed!

I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to The Bookbag.

Further reading suggestion: For other books like this one read Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz, and Monster High by Lisi Harrison.
