This is a photocopiable pattern book from Search Press which I have found invaluable over the Christmas period. The book is filled with beautifully illustrated patterns, motifs and borders. If you are a craftaholic the chances are that this book can be used in a variety of ways such as painting on glass and fabrics or making greeting cards.

The designs vary from figures, candles, toys, garlands, plants and trees. You have 32 pages of designs and most are A4 in size, which can be photocopied to a smaller or larger size. Some designs would be excellent for use on greeting cards or needlework; others would be perfect for glasswork or copper foiling.
I am always dubious before I buy a book as to whether the designs will be suitable for me, so I will give a rundown on the designs page by page:
Page 1- a large Star surrounded by smaller stars and in the centre there is a bough of holly tied in a bow. Smaller sprigs of holly also surround the stars.
Page 2- an enchanting looking house with some snow on the roof, Santa flying above with his reindeers.
Page 3 - A cosy looking fireplace with a cat snuggled up in front of the fire, a kettle hanging over the fire and the mantelpiece is filled with festive fruit and candles.
Page 4 - A Christmas tree emblazoned with candy sticks, baubles and ornaments and a fairy on top. Presents beneath a tree.
Page 5- a mantelpiece with a Snowman and candle on, beneath the mantelpiece there is a Christmas tree, which is almost the same shape as a fire.
Page 6 - Two enchanting looking fairies with wands looking like there are casting a spell.
Page 7 - A large vintage looking Father Christmas as a main focus to the picture. Behind him appear houses and in front of him appears a little girl fairy with a wand in her hand.
Page 8 - This page is split into several smaller pictures that are snowmen, presents, a wreath, and a miniature Santa, a spoon, a jug and a little Christmas village.
Page 9 - This page is split into two pictures - a window with a stained glass centre of a bird. And a gift basket filled with wine, fruit and presents.
Page 10 - A page split into a picture of an old fashioned looking like lady cooking and in front of her is a large turkey with the waft of the aroma drawn clearly to emphasise the smell of the food. A plump cook with a gleeful smile holding a massive Christmas pudding. A small child fairy with a wand in her hand.
Page 11- this page features a small heart and star. A cartoon angel. And a partridge in a pear tree.
Page 12- Two children on Christmas morning about to open a Christmas present. Beneath that picture is a holly border.
Page 13 - A young girl looking wondrously at her large Christmas present. A small wreath composed of dried fruit. A stocking with a teddy bear poking out of the top.
Page 14 - A large snowman with a broom in one hand and a bird in the other.
Page 15 - A snowman in cartoon design. Christmas bells.
Page 16 - A selection of borders. A small Christmas tree with frame behind. A bough of holly. A picture of a woman looking all snug in a snow filled scene.
Page 17 - A stocking with a teddy and a candy cane poking out of the top. A small village surrounded by snow. Three snowmen in a row.
Page 18 - A large sack of presents.
Page 19 - A small teddy. A Christmas pudding. A snow-laden house.
Page 20 - An angel reading a book. A snowy village.
Page 21 - Two large angels.
Page 22 - Father Christmas asleep in bed (one of my favourites)
Page 23 - Father Christmas poking out of a chimney, crackers, stars and trees frame the picture. A small selection of flowers.
Page 24 - Father Christmas with two children sitting on his lap looking at his good and bad list.
Page 25- Father Christmas delivering Christmas presents to two sleeping children. A selection of candles.
Page 26 - Father Christmas out in the snow delivering Christmas presents with a lantern.
Page 27 - Father Christmas in a cosy looking house leaving the presents and drinking his glass of wine.
Page 28 - A close-up picture of Father Christmas's face.
Page 29 - Father Christmas flying high above a small village with his reindeer.
Page 30 and 31 - A Christmas themed alphabet.
Page 32- a side on view of a lady drinking wine.
As this is a book of images I can't thoroughly describe each and every picture. I will tell you that each picture is unique and enchanting in its own way. Various styles appear throughout the book such as folk-art, vintage and cartoon. The scope to use these designs is endless and should provide anybody with hours of enjoyment. It will certainly be a reference book that will remain in constant use around Christmas time in my household.
