Lottie Pumpkin is an ordinary girl who is obsessed with princesses, fairy tales and Disney. Her dream is to become a princess and she had no idea that she would be sharing a room with one at Rosewood Hall...Ellie Wolf is a princess who wishes to be ordinary, so she attends Rosewood to avoid her royal duties in the kingdom of Maradova. When destiny puts these girls in the same room, the only way to survive Rosewood is to swap identities...
Connie Glynn, better known as YouTube vlogger Noodlerella, has created an enchanting , exciting world for her debut novel. Rosewood Hall is a school for the most prestigious and elite children in England. The story revolves around Ellie, Lottie and their secret which turns into a perplexing mystery. It turns out that they are not the only ones with something to hide…
Connie creates a range of characters, from mysterious Anastacia to the smart and peppy Binah. Lady Priscilla truly terrifies the readers with her cold attitude, as well as the sharp cane that she carries around to keep the students in order. However, sometimes I felt as though there were too many characters, which distracted me from the plot.
I really enjoyed the many, many plot twists in this story and how almost every chapter had me on the edge of my seat. The chapters ended with sudden cliff hangers which constantly kept me moving onto the next page. I also really enjoyed the Disney references and the magical atmosphere which made me want to go to Rosewood Hall. I believe that this book is amazing, considering it is Connie's first novel.
In conclusion, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys magical fairy tales and puzzling mysteries and hopefully the second book in ''The Rosewood Chronicles'' series will be just as fun and engaging.
Readers who enjoy princess stories will also enjoy [[Notebooks of a Middle-School Princess by Meg Cabot]], the rags-to-riches tale of a very ordinary schoolgirl.
