Kate Lord Brown grew up in Devon. Since winning her first short story competition at 17, she has worked as a freelance writer internationally. After reading Philosophy at Durham and Art History at the Courtauld Institute, she worked for a visual and performing arts festival in the wilds of Norfolk. For five years she was Associate Director of a Chelsea based art consultancy, curating collections for palaces, embassies and corporations in Europe and the Middle East, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 2004 she established Art & Interiors Ltd, a fine art consultancy. After travelling around the world, living overseas, two children and seven moves in six years thanks to her husband’s job as a pilot, she has settled in Hampshire, where she is writing her fourth novel.
