It's three years since Nanette Weston left Monaco. She'd been engaged to a Formula 1 racing driver and had lived the life of the wealthy but a serious car accident had ended all that. The accident could have killed her fiancé and she lost her driving licence because of the alcohol she'd consumed. Her slow recovery was hindered by the end of her engagement but she's found some contentment in being a nanny to two young children. When her friend and employer, Vanessa, remarries and takes an extended honeymoon in the Amazon Nanette is asked to take the children back to Monaco where their father lives.
It's a story about greed on the part of those who already have plenty and although there is some romance it doesn't play a dominant part in the book. There's more of a plot than you'll find in most chick-lit books and you're not going to be able to work out on page twenty exactly how it's all going to end. If you're looking for an interesting light holiday (or wet winter's afternoon) read then you really could do a lot worse than this book.
I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to the Bookbag. We also have a review of [[Rendezvous in Cannes by Jennifer Bohnet]].
If this book appeals then you'll also enjoy [[River Deep by Maxine Barry]].
