Comic books and movies, in general, have been given the portrayal of good; always winning and saving the day. however, thanks to the creativity of writers, we have a few writers of comics who have managed to alter this unsaid rule, 'evil wins at the end of the day'. While it may not be a great thought to bear in mind, it is still something a bit fascinating to dwell on. And, we believe that it is a breath of fresh air to discover that we have something different from the cliché where the hero always emerges as the victor.
That being said, we will go through a series of comics where the bad guys won, and well, we had a great time while reading the comics. Although some of the stories may be devastating, we cannot deny that as we mentioned earlier, these comics are a breath of fresh air for the reader.
Without wasting much time, here are the comic books where the bad guys won.
'''Comic Books Where Baddies Won'''
As we go through this article, we will divide it into three different categories, DC Comics, Marvel Comics (who are the most popular in the comic world), and Other Comics. This last category will be a series of well-known comics who are neither DC nor Marvel but have still managed to stand out.
'''DC Comics'''
'''Batman War Games'''
If there is a comic that has countless volumes, it is Batman, and while in almost every volume, Batman always emerges the winner, there is this one that stands out, Batman: War Games. In the comic, one of the Batfamily members and an ally dies. This is not a strange thing as there are always causalities. But, they do not die alone as there is a tonne of innocent civilians and cops who die as well. Black Mask, our villain, becomes the leader of the unified gangs that have taken over Gotham City. And, to add the icing to the cake, the whole thing is literally the Batfamily’s fault.
'''Cosmic Boy'''
In this comic, although our heroes, Rokk and Lydda, finally figure out who has been messing around with the timeline, there is nothing that they can do to change it or even to stop it. Sounds more like life, right? Yeah, we know. In addition, the pair barely even manages to escape with their lives. Although they do escape in the end, we can’t give them the glory as it was something that was fully facilitated by our villain. To wrap up our villain victory, he sends Rokk and Lydda back to humanity to be erased, together with everything and everyone whom they love.
'''Marvel Comics'''
'''Ultimate Comics Thor'''
Everyone and we mean everyone, who has read or even watched Marvel movies know of the God of Thunder, Thor, and his treacherous, mastermind, and rebellious younger half-brother, Loki. We personally think that Loki is the one who brings all the fun to the Thor Series.
Anyway, in this comic, we finally see the victory of Loki, who is the villain, if that wasn’t already obvious. Basically, Loki betrays Asgard, which is very normal of Loki. He does so by leading the frost Giants, as well as the full Nazi army that comes fully loaded with machine guns, as well as modern military ware against the realm. In the end, Asgard is destroyed, and everybody dies.
'''The Infinity Gauntlet'''
The Infinity Gauntlet comic series is probably one of the most heartbreaking comic books that you will ever come across. If you want to see an almost fine remake of the comic book into a live-action film, then you need to watch The Avengers: Infinity war.
Thanos has managed to get all the six infinity stones, and everyone, by this we mean all the superheroes who try to go against him have failed. And, in the end, we see him as he snaps his finger, and literally, half of all life is destroyed. Heartbreaking, we know, but well, it is a villain victory, After all, it was never meant to be pleasant.
'''Other Comics'''
'''Khaal: The Chronicles of a Galactic Emperor'''
Sounds like a comic book where the heroes win, but it’s not. In the end, we encounter the villain as he gets all that he has ever wanted; absolute power, total control, and all the good guys (his rivals) dead. As if that was not enough, he traps his siblings because their lives are tied to each other in such a manner that they can harm themselves, and harm him. In the end, like all the bad guys, he invades Earth and rules it as the God-Emperor.
