I first encountered Jo Spain a few months ago when I read [[The Boy Who Fell (Inspector Tom Reynolds) by Jo Spain|The Boy Who Fell]] and I knew then that I would take any opportunity to read more of her work. She's a classy writer: no clever literary tricks, just a good story exquisitely plotted and well told. I half guessed whodunnit, but I was nowhere near the full answer and what little bit I did get didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book. Now I've just got to get my hands on some more of her books! This one is highly recommended and I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to the Bookbag.
For more classy crime try [[When the Dead Come Calling (Burrowhead Mysteries 1) by Helen Sedgwick]]. By the same author, we also recommend [[The Perfect Lie by Jo Spain]].
