Dave grew up in Greater Manchester, England, where he lives with his wife and two young sons.

The inspiration for his debut novel, ''The White Rose'', comes in many shapes and sizes. From other novels such as ''The Stand'', ''Metro 2033'', ''The Road'', and ''A Canticle for Leibowitz'', games like the original ''Fallout'' and ''Last of Us'' series, and movies and TV shows ''I Am Legend'', ''Game of Thrones'', and ''The Book of Eli''.
