''Who's Yawning?'' is a delightful book. An elephant walks around, hearing other animals yawning as they get ready for bed. The elephant (and the child you're reading to) identifies the animal from their noise, then lifts the flaps to confirm.

The large flaps make ''Who's Yawning?'' more suitable for younger children than typical pop-up books, which can sometimes be fiddly. Although there's an odd mix of tropical and farmyard animals, this gives it a certain freshness.

The text is appropriately sparse and the illustrations are beautiful - the elephant in particular is cute without being unpleasantly cutesy. There's a nice payoff under each flap - a yawning frog with socks hanging from a washing line between two bulrushes, for example.

''Who's Yawning?'' is a perfect book to read together before bed. Highly recommended.
