This counting book (from one to ten) makes a nice partner to Orla Kiely is one of the UK's most popular designers at the momentbook about [[Orla Keily Colours by Orla Kiely|colours]] if you're looking for a pretty gift to give to a new yummy mummy. I seem The fabric cover is rather lovely to see her designs everywhere on everything from stationery to kitchen jugstouch and feel, and now her graphics are available as the board book feels well constructed and able to withstand a bit of a chew from a teething baby's book of colours.
First Each double page covers a number with one side in block colour with a stylised number, plus the name of all, this book is lovely to holdthe number below it. It has a wonderful weightiness to it, and it feels nicely sturdy, ready to withstand being thrown across Then on the other page there's the room! The cover has relevant number of a fabric feel to itparticular object, which makes it very touchableplus that objects name, and I think babies would like to stroke the cover as you read to themso for number 2 there are 2 apples pictured.
Inside thereThe images are just what you's a double page for each colour, with everything d expect from orange Orla Kiely - classy and contemporary and terribly stylish. Her books will look fabulous on your coffee table next to grey to purple. your Orla Kiely tea pot! The colours themselves have a sorted of muted tone to that softer, matt look about them - , so no primary shiny bright colours to be seen here! . For each colour thereI, personally, don's a page of t think the colour with one of Orla's designs, the opposite images are much fun to look at and thereisn's an object t much scope for interesting discussion whilst looking at each page - no funny creatures being silly in the stated colourbackground, so for orange there's an orange page or babies doing things that you can talk about with a grid design of orange coloured cars plus the word 'orange' then opposite there's a large picture of a car and the word 'car'your own baby.
My only concern really is that I don't think Still, the point of a counting book is much fun! For me it seems like the sort of book I would purposefully pack into the nappy change bag to count things and so that it might just fall out when I'm out for coffee with my mummy friends and oh, how classy I would look with an Orla Kiely baby book! You know, it's sort of a coffee table this book but for babiesperforms its function. I wouldn't We have wanted items ranging from forks to pears to read through it repeatedly leaves to my daughter, however contemporary these designs may boats. I thought the cups page might be, and would much prefer to hunker down with a confusing since some of the good old ''Dear Zoo'' that I defy any baby cups are stacked so not to enjoy!easy to identify as separate items.
And the images themselves, whilst all very modern and lovely, aren't terribly engaging for babies. I also wasn't keen on the fact think that some images are in their true colours (the page full of green pears) but then others aren't, really this book is for example the page mummies who wish to co-ordinate with a black tree whichtheir other Orla Kiely items, confusingly, is actually a white tree with a black background on or introduce their offspring to the colours page...Confusingdelights of design at an early age. And the patterned designs donIt't really provide s all very nice to look at, but not very much else fun to talk about as you read other than the name of the colour and the name of the object.!
Still, it is a rather gorgeous looking book and whilst I am more pyjama mummy than yummy mummy I think there are plenty of mums out there who will feel the need to have this little book in their library. You might want to take a look first before you buy, to see if it's the sort of book you'll enjoy looking through repeatedly, but it would certainly make an impressive-looking gift for a new baby if you're struggling to find something for the mum who has everything. I'd like to thank the pubishers for sending a copy to Bookbag.
