|summary=Jack Hunter and his friends are back! When their well-earned French holiday is cut short by Russian gangsters, stolen jewels and another historical secret to unveil, they're in more danger than ever.
}}

After solving [[Jack Hunter - Secret of the King by Martin King|the ancient secret of the King]], Jack Hunter's life has been brilliant. Finding a centuries-old key and unlocking mysteries dating back to the time of King Richard, as well as being integral in unveiling dangerous criminal activities and rescuing long-lost treasure have earned Jack and his friends a French holiday. But nothing is ever easy. Jack finds himself in the middle of a robbery, and nothing is what it seems. Russian gangsters, stolen jewels, a famous movie star.... and another historical secret pull Jack and his friends even deeper into the secrets of The Four Corners. What is going on? And how do they even know about Jack? With his family in danger, Jack can't even be sure who the good guys are.

This second installment of the Jack Hunter series is even more thrilling than the first, and is a deeper, better developed novel than the first. The characters are now familiar, and not only do they solve this mystery as well, but they go through arguments and interactions typical of every twelve and thirteen year old, coming out the other side. Strong family and friendship ties, cryptic clues and drama all combine to make an exciting read. I would liken these suspense novels to the classic Hardy Boys series in terms of their content and structure, giving a contemporary twist to a time honoured genre for young readers. Anyone who is a fan of adventure, excitement and intrigue will be gripped by these stories. Cracking great reads for ages 9 to 12 years.

Read the first in the series [[Jack Hunter - Secret of the King by Martin King|Jack Hunter - Secret of the King]] to get the background on all the action! And for more really great adventure and detective work, you've got to read [[Half-Moon Investigations by Eoin Colfer]].
