|summary=Our tiny heroine wants to meet her favourite TV star in this hilarious story, full of awkward moments!
}}
In this latest installment of the popular ''Shrinking Violet'' series, we find our eponymous heroine all in a flutter because her favourite TV star, Stella Lightfoot, is in town. An excited Violet and her best friend Nisha rush to the local book shop in the hope of meeting Stella, but we know what happens when Violet gets too excited...
''Shrinking Violet is Totally Famous'' is an entertaining read for girls ages 7 and up. The central character, Violet, is a very likeable lead who just happens to shrink down to the size of a lipstick when her emotions get the better of her. This, as you can imagine, leads to a whole series of awkward situations, as Violet tries her best to keep herself hidden in her shrunken state.
My favourite scene in the book was when Violet gets found by a little girl, who thinks she is a doll. She takes Violet home in order to do a ‘makeover’ on her, covering her in glitter and dressing her in doll clothes. Violet gets ''really'' worried, however, when the girl decides that she needs a new haircut and goes off to find mum’s sharp scissors!
I think that this book is the best in the series so far. Kuenzler has toned down the kiddie-speak, in particularly the constant usage of the words ''Awesome'' and ''Totally'', which irritated me when reading the previous book. Instead, she focuses more on the narrative and characters, resulting in a story that will appeal to parents as well as children. My daughter absolutely loves the series and devoured the whole book in two days.
As in the previous books, there is plenty of creative use with fonts and words and the whole book is illustrated beautifully with cartoon-like pictures.
I look forward to the next book in the series.
This is the third book in the series, so be sure to read [[Shrinking Violet by Lou Kuenzler|Shrinking Violet]] and [[Shrinking Violet Definitely Needs a Dog by Lou Kuenzler|Shrinking Violet Definitely Needs a Dog]] as well.
