There was a little mouse called Morris and he was a very unusual mouse. Whilst all the other mice said ''Squeak'', Morris said:
''MOO!'' and
''HONK!'' and
''NEIGH!''
He even went ''KA-BOOM!'' outside the mayor's bedroom window which upset the mayor and was ''probably'' a big part of the reason why a town meeting was called to see what could be done about the problem that was Morris. But it was in this meeting that an even bigger threat to the mice emerged - and guess who turned out to be the hero of the day? I'm not going to tell you ''how'' - you'll have to read the book for yourself - but it certainly made me laugh and it's caught everyone who's seen it by surprise.
It's a lovely book with bright, clear, ''interesting'' illustrations - the sort that reveal something new every time you look and there's a clever message, delivered in a non-preachy way about accepting the fact that some people are ''different'' and that everyone might be glad of those differences one day.
The book will appeal to the adults in the family as well as the child - it's one of those books which you don't mind when you get the twentieth request to read it this weekend. There's some bonus content at the back too - a word search and some jokes - and there's even an iPad app to download.
It's a book that adults and kids will giggle their way through with plenty of scope for making very loud animal and motor noises - the sort that are just not good enough unless they're shouted. It's probably ''not'' the best bedtime book, but it's great fun and I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to the Bookbag.
For another rather noisy book we can recommned [[The Bunny That Couldn't Be Found by Angela Mitchell]].
