Sarah Bourne was born and raised in London and now lives in Sydney. She never intended to be a writer; she wanted to do a photography course but didn’t have a camera, so she sat down to write a story instead. Her first novel, ''Never Laugh at Shadows'', was published in 2014. Her second, ''Two Lives'', came out in 2105. She is currently working on several projects including another novel and a YA trilogy.
