The Mr Men and Little Misses are branching out. No longer content with simple stories focussing on just one character, they're getting together with their friends for bigger and bolder adventures. Of course it would be Little Miss Curious who, in a curious way, finds the footprint to begin with. She turns to Mr Clever to find out what it is and, being clever, he tells her immediately: it belongs to a dinosaur. How exciting! The pair, along with some friends, set out to find the dinos.
Before I read it I thought this story might be a little odd, or off in some way. How can you really merge two such different worlds? But it turns out you can, quite easily. We learn that dinosaurs are taller than Mr Tall and stronger than Mr Strong. Golly! They're even greedier than Mr Greedy, and that's saying something.
I was surprised and delighted by this book. It's full of fun facts about dinosaurs, how they look, how they act and how friendly they are (of course!) It was also beautifully illustrated in the classic Mr Men style with simple lines, bright colours and familiar faces. We also had the pleasure of reading the companion {{amazonurl|isbn=1405283025|title=Mr Men Adventure in Egypt}} which is equally charming with a foreign flair.
Young or old, fans of the Mr Men and Little Miss books will love these new titles. I'd like to thank the publishers for sending us a copy to review.
The newly released [[My First Mr Men 123 by Roger Hargreaves|My First Mr Men 123]] is another welcome addition to the series and wonderful introduction to the pint sized characters.
