Richard F. Walker was born in Africa, brought up in Birmingham, went to university in the north-east of England, and has twice lived and worked in London. His career can best described as a game of two halves: up to the age of 37, he had a fairly conventional career doing “normal” jobs, writing in his spare time (and once winning a national 100-word story competition). Then, around mid-life crisis time, he became an English language teacher and worked at various times in Turkey, Poland and China. Now semi-retired, he has returned to writing and lives in the Malvern Hills.
