April doesn't want to move to Cleveland with her dad and his new wife. She doesn't want to move to Paris with her mum either. So April decides the best thing to do is to move in with her best friend Vi, and Vi's mum. But, Vi's mum has recently landed herself the role as Mary Poppins in a travelling theatre, so she's not going to be home. That's not going to stop April from staying in Westport, armed with a couple of fake emails addresses the plan is set.

It's a sixteen-year-olds dream - no parents, no rules, parties every night and an allowance (which is supposed to be spent on rent, but goes on a hot tub named Hula). It sounds like the perfect life. But, there's a lot of growing up April needs to do, and it's going to happen fast. From losing her virginity, spending five thousand dollars on a cat her dad thinks is dead, breaking and entering, oh, and a lot of parties. There are maybe a few more than ten things that April shouldn't have done.

This is a good book that girls are going to gobble up. It's funny, it's the lifestyle we all wish we could have, and there are plenty of lovely boys. April is a likeable character, although in some places I did find her a little immature, and whiney. But, then she had a lot of growing up to do. There are also some moments that I found a little hard to believe, mainly how trusting and nice Hudson is – that guy doesn't have a bad bone in his body. And seems to have a lot of money in his bank account.

Overall, it's a lovely story about a girl who has a lot to learn about friendship, love, men and life.
