|summary=A pirate crew go in search of the legendary Pants of Gold.
}}
The Black Bloomer and her crew of scurvy pirates are off in search of treasure, but this is no ordinary booty. These underwear-loving scoundrels are searching for the fabled Pants of Gold, which can be found in Big Knickers Bay. Following the route on their trusty treasure map, they lift anchor and set sail for the island. Unfortunately, when they arrive, it seems that another crew have beaten them to it! Armed with a sharp cutlass and a wicked glint in his eye, the Captain has a plan to reclaim the Golden Underpants for himself... Don’t worry, this is a children’s book; you will have to read it to find out exactly what the Captain does with the cutlass...

''Pirates Love Underpants'' is the latest addition to the ''Underpants'' series. Children seem to love anything that is a bit rude and cheeky, which may explain why the series has been so successful. My little boy loves [[Aliens In Underpants Save The World by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort|Aliens In Underpants Save The World]] so he was keen to get his hands on this book.

The story itself is told in rhyme, which makes it really enjoyable to read and share. Some of the words may be challenging for very young children to tackle, but older children will be able to read this by themselves without too many problems.

The artwork is absolutely fantastic, with really detailed illustrations. There is so much to see on each page and lots of opportunity to discuss what is going on in each picture. For example, the first picture in the book is a big pirate ship, with underpants laced across the rigging like bunting. Pirates are scurrying around trying to load the ship and there are all sorts of animals to be seen in the background. Eagle-eyed readers will even spot the odd alien if they look really closely. My favourites were the underpants-wearing sharks in the bay and the little crab on the front cover wearing a rather fetching red polka-dot pair of briefs.

The story is a lot of fun, although the pirates DO end up stealing the Golden Pants, which may provoke a reaction from young readers who have been taught that stealing is wrong. Parents may have to think about how to deal with that question if it arises. However, this is sure to be a popular book with young readers aged 4-7 and hopefully, we will see the pirates again in future adventures.
