Kate Cooch spent the first part of her working life in the United States Coast Guard flying rescue missions in the HH65 Dolphin helicopter. During her time in the Coast Guard she started writing articles about military history. This blossomed into writing full time after the Coast Guard.

Kate started publishing her Happy Housewife mystery series in 2012. While continuing her work on this series she also published two novels, in 2016 and 2019. She lives just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband and three kids.
