Category:Steven Jon Halasz
Steven Jon Halasz lives in Sarasota, Florida, where he writes with much help from his wife Elena, who rigorously critiques his work. Now retired from a career as a software developer, he has returned in earnest to a passion for fiction writing that has afflicted him off and on since adolescence.
He grew up in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, received a B.A. in English Literature from Hiram College and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University, then practiced law for six years before being seduced by the siren call of the computer revolution and switching careers in 1980. As a computer programmer, he has had occasion to work or present in a number of countries besides the U.S., including Canada, Mexico, England, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, and Maldives.
His literary influences include Mark Twain, Arthur C. Clarke, E.M. Forster, Graham Greene, John LeCarré, Charles Frazier, Albert Camus, and Diana Gabaldon.
