Who loves underpants? EVERYONE loves underpants! We’ve already explored how aliens love them, how cavemen love them, and how pirates love them. Who else could there possibly be? Oh yes, that’s right…. Monsters! Claire Freedman and and Ben Cort are back with yet another tale about pingy pants elastic.
Any book in this series is bound to be popular, and this is no exception. It is a formula which works with reliable and entertaining illustrations and text. There’s a universal enjoyment for kids in books about pants, and these books are now the mainstay of the genre, and rightly so. Each monster in the book has great details and quirky little features which make it great fun to share with kids, taking them through this wild romp, from frozen woods to the bottom of the ocean.
Books like these are particularly useful when you just want a few minutes of sitting down with your crazy youngster. It will always catch a child’s attention, and it will always keep them entertained from start to finish, time and time again no doubt, so it’s always good to get a new one in the series, if only to be able to put the last one aside!
I look forward to seeing who else will come out with their love of underwear when another book in the series comes out, and I can’t help but hope it might be a little more story based, like Aliens in Underpants Save the World, but I’m sure whatever it is, it will be great. Just as I’m sure this book full of bright, exciting monsters and knickers will be as popular as all of the rest.
